Bandpass
These filters pass specific frequency bands and reject frequencies above and below the passband. The lower stopband may or may not extend to DC. The upper limit of the stopband is usually specified as some multiple of the passband centre frequency and is highly dependent on the design structure of the filter. The number of cavities used in a filter determines the steepness of the slope close to the passband. Cavities are created using irises, single or multi-post designs, inline or folded. Depending on the application, the ideal structure is chosen to best address the specifications.
